Since I don't speak Russian, I would never know if it was translated correctly or if I was given credit. On the other hand, she is asking permission, which seems to mean she's honest. She could have just done it and I'd never know about it. What do you think? Should I let her do it? Have any of you allowed it or know someone who has? It's just a story and I'm not making any money off it, but I don't want anyone else to make money off it either.

I did ask for the URL of her site before I made a decision. Is this a normal request that happens to fanfiction writers?

Any advice? Please?

I received a couple of questions in a review on Mediaminer and I thought they both deserved a thorough answer. So here goes...

Question #1: Aren't the sides of the well closer to butt height? If Kagome hits Inuyasha high enough or with enough force, they still fall in.

Actually, that's up for debate. It depends on the picture you look at. I've seen manga images that depict the above-ground well structure as being anywhere from knee-high to mid-thigh-high. (Naturally the manga images below support the knee-high version that I described in What A Girl Needs. ^_^ )





Question # 2: Why didn't Kagome create a barrier when she and Inuyasha were at the bottom of the well, thus rendering them both invisible to Souta and Grandpa?

Speaking from personal experience, when you are caught having sex, your brain stops working. Your 'flight' instinct rushes in full-force to try and extract you from the most embarrassing situation of your life.

Picture this (well, don't picture me naked, please, just understand the situation): My boyfriend and I are at my house alone (healthy teenagers). My parents left 20 minutes ago to go to their friends' house. The biggest bed in the house belongs to said parents. Said parents forgot something and came home. Said bed was occupied. I didn't know my dad knew words like that. At the time, the only thought in my mind was to disengage and cover my naked ass. If there would have been a window handy, I would have jumped out of it. I think my boyfriend had the same thoughts. We fell all over each other trying to put on clothes.

I had my own humiliating experience in mind when I wrote that scene with Kagome and Inuyasha. Thinking she would be caught by her brother and grandfather doing that at the bottom of the well was mortifying enough to frazzle her brain. She froze. That's the reaction I pictured her having so that's how I wrote it.

It definitely would have made sense for her to put up a shield and wait until they were gone, but the situation shocked her senseless. ^_^

I hope that answers your questions, Okaasan-7, and I'm glad you were paying attention while you read my story. :)

And as a footnote, two decades later (same house, new set of teenagers) my daughter walked in on her cousin and his girlfriend doing that. My dad told my daughter, "Well we have something in common now. Did I tell you about the time I caught your mother and father..." Thanks, Dad.

AFF servers have apparently suffered "problems". The last week's worth of updates (reviews, added chapters, added stories, etc.) have all gone into a black hole somewhere.

Chapters 11 and 12 of What A Girl Needs (and about 30 reviews) have all gone bye-bye on AFF.

Alright, I added chapter 12 to What A Girl Needs. That's two chapters in a day. According to Mediaminer, the combined word count for chapters 11 and 12 is about 21,000 words.

It's 4am and I'm too lazy to put links in. See my previous entry for that. ^_^

I've updated What A Girl Needs with chapter 11. I cut the chapter in half because it was so long and the other half will become chapter 12 and will be updated tonight or in the morning.
